Kenward Trust Launches "Alcohol and Me" Campaign for Alcohol Awareness Week 2026

“Kenward Trust is supporting Alcohol Awareness Week (6–12 July 2026), led by Alcohol Change UK, and encouraging people across Kent and beyond to reflect on the role alcohol plays in their lives.”

This year's national theme, "Alcohol and Me", focuses on helping individuals better understand how alcohol may be affecting their health, well-being, relationships, work and future. Through a week of awareness-raising activities, educational content, and recovery stories, Kenward Trust aims to start honest conversations and reduce the stigma that can prevent people from seeking help.

For many people, alcohol has become a normal part of social occasions, celebrations and everyday life. However, alcohol can also contribute to poor sleep, anxiety, low mood, reduced productivity, family difficulties and serious long-term health conditions, including liver disease, stroke, high blood pressure and several forms of cancer.

Throughout Alcohol Awareness Week, Kenward Trust will be inviting people to take just two minutes to consider a simple question: "What role does alcohol play in my life?"

The charity will be sharing:

·       Information about Alcohol Awareness Week and this year's national theme, "Alcohol and Me."

·       Personal stories from people who have reflected on their relationship with alcohol and experienced positive change.

·       Encouragement for people to take Alcohol Change UK's free drinking check and reflect on their own relationship with alcohol.

·       Information about the support and recovery services available through Kenward Trust for anyone seeking help with alcohol addiction.

Kenward Trust has supported thousands of people affected by addiction and homelessness through residential rehabilitation, recovery support and community-based services. The organisation believes that recovery is possible for everyone, regardless of where they are in their journey.

Penny Williams, CEO for Kenward Trust said:

"Alcohol Awareness Week is an opportunity for reflection rather than judgement. We want people to know that exploring their relationship with alcohol doesn't mean they have a problem, it simply means they're taking an honest look at their health and wellbeing. Whether someone wants to cut down, stop drinking, support a loved one, or learn more, help is available."

The charity is encouraging local residents, businesses, community groups and supporters to join the conversation by sharing campaign messages and reflecting on their own experiences using the hashtag #AlcoholAndMe.
