Challenge yourself by taking part in Dry January 2023

This year, we’re asking you to challenge yourself by taking part in Dry January.

It is a common misconception that not drinking is boring, but that is definitely not the case; taking just one month off from drinking may help you realise that there is no problem with not drinking alcohol, and that you can actually have a better time sober than than when you do drink.

In just the first few weeks of not drinking, you will notice that you begin to sleep better, and your skin gets clearer; you will actually remember what happened on nights out and will begin to think more clearly. You will also get a better understanding of yourself and your relationship with alcohol, which may change your habits in the future. In addition to all of this, you will save money, which you could put towards something special for yourself or a loved one… or even donate to a charity!

Long-term, Dry January encourages people to drink more healthily throughout the year and raises awareness of the negative impacts of drinking, but there are also the immediate short-term health benefits of not drinking alcohol, such as:

  • Lowered blood pressure

  • Reduced diabetes risk

  • Lowered cholesterol

  • Reduced levels of cancer-related proteins in the blood.

You’ve got nothing to lose and so much to gain, but are you up for the challenge?
