Therapeutic Gardens & Workshops

Our Therapeutic Gardens & Workshops provide our residents with both restorative and practical skills during their stay in our programmes

Therapeutic Gardens and Workshops (TGW) is a vital part of the rehabilitation programme here at Kenward Trust. It offers creative group work and animal care as forms of occupational therapy for residents. TGW holds significant therapeutic value as it serves multiple purposes in the recovery process; offering meaningful activities that promote engagement in productive and satisfying tasks. The workshops encourage creative expression, which can be a valuable outlet for emotions and thoughts related to the recovery journey.

The sense of community fostered in TGW can be vital for individuals who have struggled with feelings of isolation and helps promote social reintegration.

Creative activities are scientifically proven to lower cortisol levels leading to a decrease in stress and the workshops can serve as a form of self-expression and personal growth, boosting self-esteem and confidence.

Therapy through accessing creativity and nature aligns with the holistic approach to recovery that Kenward Trust embraces.
