Geoff Lumb, Head of Resettlement Services
After an interesting career as an Infantry Officer spanning continents and cultures on diverse military escapades, Geoff worked as a Programme Leader and Chief of Staff within the Ministry of Defence. Collaborating on high value procurement and training projects with defence contractors such as PWC, Lockheed Martin and QinetiQ, his remit required him to balance dichotomies of quality and performance for the military customer against commercial supplier constraints and cost to Defence budget. His securing of buy-in from competing stakeholders and evidencing value for taxpayers was achieved by him building detailed, robust and equitable business cases for Defence Board consideration and subsequent successful IAC and Treasury level approval.
Family circumstances and injury driving a life change, he returned to Bath University achieving a degree in Addictions Counselling. Working in residential and private practice settings with individuals that have included high profile public interest figures and military veterans across the gamut of substance and behavioural addictions, he passionately believes in and champions a trauma informed and person-centred approach.
As Head of Resettlement Services Geoff leads an inclusive and collaborative Team of Angels whose hard work and commitment in providing holistic supported housing is focused and unwavering. Providing not just accommodation but a warm and loving home, Kenward residents have mind, body, and soul restored and nurtured. A social return on investment beyond measure, this is what enables the person to journey back from the abyss of previous trauma and addiction to a fulfilling and contented life reconnected with community and family.
A keen sportsperson in times gone by, to keep head and heart healthy he is supported by a loving if argumentative family. For peace and quiet he enjoys sea fishing, kayaking and hillwalking when health allows, with interests in the arts, political philosophy and eclectic reading.
