Nicky Baker, Board Assurance
After qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1996, Nicky worked for a number of years in Coronary Care and Trauma Intensive Care. Having gained experience in clinical and operational management, she then utilised her skill-set to gain roles within Quality Improvement both at local and national level. Nicky was instrumental in enhancing patient outcomes by ensuring that improvements were made to facilitate the delivery of safe, effective, timely, person-centred, efficient and equitable treatment.
Since July 2020, Nicky has provided Governance Lead services to Kenward as an independent consultant. During this time, she has implemented a number of quality improvement initiatives and raised the profile of all aspects of Governance. As an organisation, Kenward works tirelessly to provide the highest standards of care and continually evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of society.
Nicky has undertaken a number of voluntary roles throughout the last 20 years. She currently volunteers as a Trustee for a local hospice.
Nicky attends Pilates, Ashtanga Yoga and the gym every week. She also enjoys attending live music and comedy events. Nicky lives in Kent with her husband, 2 sons who are both in the early stages of their own careers, and her two dogs.
