A Mum and Daughter's story of hope, healing and recovery
Jessica describes her life before recovery in three words: dark, isolated and chaotic.
Struggling with alcohol addiction and poor mental health, her world had shrunk to the size of her childhood bedroom. Her days revolved around drinking, isolation and simply getting through each day.
"I lost all desire to live."

After being admitted to a psychiatric hospital, Jessica realised how much control alcohol had over her life. Even surrounded by professionals trying to help, her addiction continued.
The turning point came when she was introduced to Kenward Trust.
"Their testimonies were everything to me because they gave me hope. Hope that if others could overcome addiction, I could too."
Today, Jessica's life looks very different. She has rebuilt relationships, supports other women in recovery, chairs AA meetings, and continues to build a future she once thought was impossible.
Her message to anyone struggling is simple:
"Despite how hopeless you might feel, no one is too far gone to recover."
Words adapted from Jessica's Recovery Month interview and video interview.
