Simon Webster, Deputy Chair
I was asked to join Kenward in 2019, largely to support the finance team and I now chair its finance committee. I was appointed deputy chair of Trustees in 2025.
I originally trained as an accountant and have worked as a financial adviser since 1983 - largely running my own business. That company now retains 35 people and I simply consult. Between 2000 and 2002 I took a highly educational sabbatical to run one of the largest financial services businesses in the UK.
I have served on the leadership team of my professional body at local & national level and enjoyed several years as a director of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, where I chaired its finance committee.
My wife and I own several buy-to-let properties and an office building, invaluable experience given Kenward’s own property portfolio.
I am a committed Christian and have attended Saint Mary Bredin Church in Canterbury for over 30 years. I have been a member of its parochial church council for the last 20 and during that time I have served as youth leader, worship leader and as its treasurer for the last 11. In 2005/ 6 I project managed SMB’s £1.5 million building refurbishment. My work involved fund raising, communications, facilitating & negotiating external financing and construction oversight.
I am married to Pam and have three children & seven grandchildren ranging in age between 26 and 3!
