Kenward Trust Shares a Message of Hope This Christmas
Penny Williams
Kenward Trust has released its annual Christmas message, reflecting on a year of resilience, community strength and transformative impact for individuals affected by addiction and homelessness across Kent and the South East.
Despite the significant challenges charities nationwide face, including increased financial pressures and rising demand for support, Kenward Trust has achieved an inspiring milestone, reaching full capacity of 40 individuals currently in Stage One residential rehab treatment, the highest number participating in the 12 week programme, at any one time, for the last 20 years.
A Message of Hope from CEO Penny Williams
In her Christmas address, Penny Williams highlighted both the realities facing the sector and the achievements made possible through dedicated staff and generous supporters.
“This year has been challenging for many charities, including ours. Fundraising has been difficult and the pressures on resources have been real. Yet, despite these obstacles, we have something incredible to celebrate: we have supported more people on their road to recovery than ever before this year.”
Williams emphasised that this progress reflects the courage of those entering recovery, the professionalism of Kenward Trust’s teams and the ongoing commitment of donors, volunteers and community partners.

The Trust also expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who supported the Kenward Café throughout 2025, whether by visiting, sharing a meal, attending community events, or purchasing handmade gifts.
Every interaction with the café contributes directly to the Trust’s mission, helping fund programmes that offer individuals the chance to rebuild their lives through recovery support, education and a sense of belonging.
“Every coffee poured, cake eaten and gift chosen helps brighten lives, whether in one conversation or one moment at a time.”
