Clock House Farm Supports Kenward Trust in Restoring Therapeutic Polytunnel
Clock House Farm Team
Kenward Trust, a leading Kent-based charity supporting individuals recovering from addiction and homelessness, is proud to announce generous funding from neighbouring agricultural business, Clock House Farm, to restore its therapeutic polytunnel, an essential part of the charity’s award-winning Therapeutic Gardens & Workshops programme.
Located side by side in the Kent countryside, Kenward Trust and Clock House Farm share a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability, wellbeing, and community. Kenward Trust would like to extend its sincere thanks to Clock House Farm for their generosity and support. This partnership will enable the restoration of a vital growing space that supports residents on their recovery journey.
Kenward Trust’s Therapeutic Gardens & Workshops, rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), play a central role in rehabilitation. Through gardening, creative workshops, and animal care, residents engage in meaningful, hands-on activities that promote emotional wellbeing, build confidence, and develop practical life skills.
The polytunnel, now restored, will provide a year-round environment for growing fruit, vegetables, and plants, creating further opportunities for residents to reconnect with nature, learn new skills, and experience the benefits of structured, therapeutic work.
Creative and outdoor activities such as gardening are widely recognised for their positive impact on mental health. Studies show they can reduce stress levels, improve mood, and support long-term recovery by fostering a sense of purpose and achievement.
Clock House Farm, one of the UK’s leading fruit growers, is renowned for its commitment to producing the highest quality soft and top fruit while championing environmentally sustainable farming practices. With a strong ethos centred on protecting the land for future generations, their support reflects a shared vision with Kenward Trust: nurturing growth, renewal, and resilience.
Penny Williams, CEO, Kenward Trust, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to the team at Clock House Farm for their generous support. The restoration of our polytunnel will directly benefit our residents, giving them more opportunities to engage in therapeutic gardening and develop skills that support long-term recovery. This partnership truly represents the power of community.”
This collaboration highlights the importance of local partnerships in creating meaningful change, bringing together environmental responsibility and social impact to transform lives.
