Kenward Trust Appoints Long-Standing Supporter Jean Park as Its First President

Kenward Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Jean Park, one of the organisation’s longest‑serving and most devoted supporters, as the charity’s first President. Jean has been involved with Kenward for an extraordinary 55 years, making her contribution one of the most significant in the Trust’s history.

Jean’s relationship with Kenward began shortly after the charity’s founding. Initially, she volunteered covering many roles from curtain making to administration support. In 1985 Jean was formally employed and rose to Deputy Director. One of her major contributions was opening Kenward’s female only project in 1992. Her unwavering commitment, determination, and belief in the organisation’s mission have shaped its development across five decades. Her advocacy continues to this day; she remains an active voice for the people Kenward serves and a powerful ambassador for its work in addiction recovery, supported housing, and community rehabilitation.

Jean also played a pivotal role in encouraging Lord Brooke to become Kenward’s Patron, using her long-standing connection and influence to strengthen the charity’s public standing and support network.

Penny Williams, CEO of Kenward Trust, said:
“Jean has been a cornerstone of Kenward Trust for over half a century. Her dedication, passion, and deep belief in our mission have shaped who we are today. Appointing her as President is not only an honour but a heartfelt recognition of her extraordinary service.”

Simon Webster, Chair of Trustees, who supported the creation of this new honorary role, added:
“Kenward's success has been built on the quiet contribution of the many volunteers that Jean exemplifies. Her appointment as our president is a great way to honour her commitment. Jean, thank you for all that you do.”

The role of President has been established specifically to honour individuals whose lifetime dedication has transformed the charity’s impact. Jean’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Kenward, recognising both her historic contribution and her continued commitment to supporting people on their journey to recovery.

“Kenward has been part of my life for so many years. I have seen lives changed, families rebuilt, and hope restored. It is an honour to continue serving an organisation that means so much to me.”

Kenward Trust looks forward to celebrating Jean’s legacy and continuing to work alongside her as she steps into this prestigious and meaningful new role.
