Kenward Trust welcomes Diane Morton to its Board of Trustees
We are delighted to welcome Diane Morton RMN to the Kenward Trust Board of Trustees.
Diane brings more than 40 years of experience across mental health, healthcare, adult social care, public health, business and local government, together with a longstanding commitment to supporting vulnerable people and strengthening communities.
A Registered Mental Health Nurse, Diane’s career has included frontline nursing, mental health support, counselling, complementary therapies and senior leadership roles. She has also established and led businesses and community enterprises designed to help people develop skills, build confidence and access employment opportunities.
Diane is particularly passionate about mental health, suicide prevention and recovery. She established Care and Support After Suicide, a community support group providing understanding, companionship and practical support to individuals and families affected by suicide.
Her experience of working with people affected by substance misuse, supporting recovery services in Kent and observing innovative approaches to recovery in Sweden further strengthened her interest in supporting Kenward Trust and its work helping people rebuild their lives.
In May 2025, Diane was elected to Kent County Council and subsequently appointed Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health. She also serves as Chair of the Reform UK Adult Social Care Network and as a Peer with the Local Government Association.

Diane Morton, New Kenward Trust Trustee
Speaking about her appointment, Diane said:
“I am honoured and delighted to be joining Kenward Trust as a Trustee. Throughout my career I have seen both the devastating impact addiction can have on individuals, families and communities, and the extraordinary difference that the right support can make. I have long been passionate about mental health, recovery and helping people to fulfil their potential, so I am very pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to the work of Kenward Trust. I look forward to working alongside the Trustees, staff, volunteers and everyone within the Kenward community to help support even more people to rebuild their lives.”
We are very pleased to have Diane joining the Kenward family and look forward to drawing on her considerable experience, knowledge and passion as we continue our work supporting people affected by addiction towards a positive and sustainable future.
