Kenward Trust Receives £1,726 From Co-op Local Community Fund to Support Community Hub

CEO Penny Williams at Co-op Tunbridge Wells

Kenward Trust is delighted to announce it has received £1,726.22 through the Co-op Local Community Fund, thanks to the generosity of Co-op Members. The donation was presented to CEO Penny Williams at the Co-op store on Silverdale Road, Tunbridge Wells, where local members chose Kenward Trust as one of the charities to benefit from their community votes.

This funding will directly support the development of the Kenward Community Hub in Tunbridge Wells—a brand-new set of services designed to bring recovery, wellbeing, and community connection together under one roof.

A New Hub Supporting Recovery and the Community

The Kenward Community Hub will offer a wide range of support to those affected by addiction, families in need, and individuals seeking improved wellbeing:

  • Weekly Timetabled Treatment Programme

A vital alternative for those who need structured recovery support but are unable to access residential rehab due to work, caring responsibilities, or affordability.

  • Affordable Counselling

Available to individuals in recovery and families seeking to build resilience. This service helps prevent crisis by offering timely and accessible mental health support.

  • Therapeutic Garden:
A welcoming green space where people in recovery, volunteers, and members of the community can come together to grow, connect, and heal.

  • Community Engagement Events:
These sessions will offer opportunities for local agencies, residents, and people in recovery to connect, share support, build relationships, and access information and services that strengthen wellbeing and community resilience.

CEO Penny Williams said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Co-op Members for choosing Kenward Trust and helping us bring the Community Hub to life. This donation will make a real and lasting difference to people who are rebuilding their lives after addiction, as well as to families who need early support. The Hub is about connection—bringing the community together, offering meaningful support, and empowering people to thrive. We couldn’t do this without the kindness of our local Co-op Members.”

A Community Effort Making a Lasting Difference

The Co-op Local Community Fund has supported thousands of organisations nationwide, and Kenward Trust is proud to be among this year’s beneficiaries. The £1,726.22 raised will help ensure that the Community Hub becomes a vibrant, accessible space offering practical help, emotional support, and opportunities for people to give back.
