Our New Chair of Trustees Featured in Kent Life Magazine
We are delighted to share that our new Chair of Trustees, Simon Webster, features in the March edition of Kent Life Magazine.
Simon Webster, Chair of Trustees
Simon steps into the role at an important time for Kenward Trust, bringing with him extensive experience in finance, leadership and strategic development. In the interview, he reflects on what inspired him to join the charity, his commitment to giving back, and his passion for supporting those affected by addiction.
Having built a successful business career, Simon speaks openly about his desire to use his skills and experience to strengthen organisations that create lasting social impact. With addiction continuing to affect individuals, families and communities across Kent, his focus is clear: ensuring Kenward Trust remains financially strong, strategically focused and able to expand its life-changing work.
In the feature, Simon shares his priorities as Chair, including:
Building on the strong foundations laid by previous trustees
Strengthening our strategic focus and long-term sustainability
Raising the profile of Kenward Trust to influence commissioning and referrals
Supporting continued service development to meet increasingly complex needs
He also highlights the importance of our trauma-informed approach to recovery — focusing not simply on “what’s wrong” with someone, but “what happened” to them. This compassionate, evidence-based model continues to transform lives and create new futures for those we support.
Simon’s vision is ambitious but grounded: to help Kenward Trust grow responsibly, broaden our reach, and challenge the stigma surrounding addiction. He is particularly excited about expanding initiatives such as our Thinking Differently campaign in schools, helping young people make safer, healthier choices.
We are incredibly grateful for Simon’s leadership and enthusiasm as we continue to strengthen our impact across Kent and beyond.
